MERUS Adventure is an outdoor adventure park in the Palo Duro Canyon of Texas.
Those visiting the privately owned park or who are members can take the grounds for activities like off-roading and overlanding, guided off-road tours, Jeep rentals, hiking and backpacking, caving, mountain biking, and group retreats.
MERUS' goal is for those at the park to have fun, build relationships, and create unforgettable memories.
The park has a linear acreage of 5,412, but the actual usable acreage is more than 7,500. MERUS is home to eight plateau peninsulas on the property, plus a main canyon that creates unprecedented privacy. Park owners and employees have only had a chance to explore 50% of the park.
According to MERUS, most of the park's elevation gains range from 100 to 500 feet in drop, perfect for climbs and descents. The park has cliffs and ledges with up to 300 foot drops for truly spectacular views of the spectacular terrain. The base elevation of the park at the rim of the canyon is 3,412 feet above sea level. The canyon's lowest point is 2,500 feet.
The Palo Duro Canyon brings its visitors to the exposed terrain from four different geological time periods.
Adventurers will explore the park, traversing across sand, sandstone, red dirt, rock, stone, clay, and more as the environment rapidly changes. However, the park's signature terrain is the red dirt floor of the canyon.
